I don’t know about anyone else but when I watch those birth shows on TLC I start cryin’ right along with the families in the shows. I never did before I had my son so what the heck is that about!?!! I thought after watching all these shows and watching everyone I don’t even know crying when the baby came that I would be the same…. but no, when my son was born there was no tears.. the only tears I got was the next day when the baby-blues kicked in!!!!
I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would feel like this. Thats a loaded statement! I never thought that I would be so nervous when people hold my baby. Everytime I hand him over to someone (even if its my own mom) I just wanna say; ‘ok, there, you held him, thats enough’. I just wanna take him and put him in a glass box so people can’t get too close! I know I’m not the only REALLY protective mom out there, c’mon!!! I keep telling myself that when he gets a little older and he can hold his own head up that I’ll loosen up a bit… I have this funny feeling though.. that just may not happen!!
So thats how I felt a few months ago….. I still feel that way, not as much but I would still rather be the one to hold him while people say hi to him.. is that soooo wrong?!!
Ok, I know babies drool… everyone knows that, but I thought they only started drooling when they were teething. My son started drooling when he was only 2 or 3 months old, he drooled so much he required a bib everyday!! He’s 7 months, still drooling (not as much to require a bib daily but still drooling when he wants) and still no teeth… please explain to me when babies start drooling that means they’re gonna get teeth soon, not so in my sons case, so whats goin on!??!
So, the other morning just like every other morning, the little one is waking up around 9… he’ll lay there for awhile kicking his legs and sucking his fingers, farting and pooping!!!! Sorry, let me just say that if he wakes up at 2 or 3 in the morning and wants to eat (and poo) but he falls back to sleep right after eating, then of course I let him sleep without changing his diaper so I can go back to sleep… remember its 3 in the morning! Having said that, his diaper is full, so when he wakes back up at 9 and is pooping more, all I can think while laying in bed and listening to him poop his pants is; ‘I hope that diaper can hold it’. I finally get up and say ‘hi’ and he smiles back his ‘hi’, I look down to see poo surrounding his lower half! Now this is a first… usually the trusty diaper holds it all, but not this time!!! Its all over his bed and down the side of his leg… how to get him to the changing table without getting myself covered in poo you ask? EASY, wrap him in the poop covered sheet hes laying on and carefully carry him! I get him to the changing table and look over this incredible mess and decide to take a picture just to have while I tell this funny story to family and friends!!!!! Now I’ve got’em on the table to change… how to get his clothes over his head without streaking the poo up his back and in his hair you ask? EASY, wrap him in the poop covered sheet he was laying on and forget about it… just kidding of course! If you leave it alone it won’t go away by itself!!!! There’s no easy way around this one, thank goodness for bathtime, so get all the poo streaking up his back and in his hair you want, it does wash off nicely!!! I can’t say this is the first time poop has come out of his diaper but that much poop to come out is a first. All the other times, just a little comes out the back… just enough to get his clothes dirty!!! So there’s the first poop story, I’m sure to have many more… I still love you my pooping angel!!!!!
I wish someone told me that my 6 week old son would get… woodies!!! 6 WEEKS old, OMG. I open the diaper and what do I see pointing at me… this HUGE baby penis!! I just couldn’t believe it, I actually said out loud, ‘my god child’! I never knew baby boys could get woodies this early (you’d think my mom would’ve mentioned something… she had 3 sons!!) I’ll admit, I was pretty surprised… after the shock subsided I laughed! He’s 7 months now so I’m getting used to it….. but it still makes me laugh and cringe when it gets really hard and I have to put his diaper cream on!!! My hubby thinks its pretty amusing too because he figures the little one takes after him! Typical!!!
